BlockiMe Privacy Policy

BlockiMe ("the extension") is a website and page blocker for Google Chrome. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how. The short version: BlockiMe collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere.

Data the extension stores

To function, BlockiMe stores the following data:

• Your block list (domains, pages, keywords and categories you chose to block)
• Your settings (schedule, focus mode, protection options, redirect URLs)
• Blocking statistics (how many times a rule was triggered)
• An optional protection password, stored as a hash if you enable this feature

This data is stored only in Chrome's built-in storage (chrome.storage.sync and chrome.storage.local). If you are signed in to Chrome with sync enabled, your block list and settings are synchronized between your devices by Google as part of the standard Chrome sync feature, governed by the Google Privacy Policy. If sync is unavailable, the extension falls back to local storage on the current device.

Data the extension does NOT collect

• No browsing history is collected, transmitted or sold
• No personal information (name, email, accounts) is requested
• No analytics, tracking, cookies or third-party scripts are used
• No data is sent to any server operated by the extension's developer
• The extension makes no network requests of its own

Permissions

BlockiMe requests the following Chrome permissions, used solely for blocking:

• declarativeNetRequest — redirect blocked sites to a local blocked page
• storage — save your block list and settings
• alarms — schedule and focus-mode timers
• tabs — redirect already-open tabs when a rule is added
• contextMenus — the "Block this site" right-click item
• webNavigation — catch in-page (SPA) navigations on blocked sites
• <all_urls> — match any URL you choose to block

Data removal

Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data. To remove synced data, uninstall the extension and clear your Chrome sync data at chrome.google.com/sync.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
